This nifty cradle is designed to hold the signature for your book while you make holes for stitching. The jig has holes about 15mm apart so you can make your own spacing to suit the job.
This cradle can accommodate a book pageset 300mm long. As shown in the photos, simply fold the book signature or page set, butt it up against the fence, place the pre-drilled jig in position and make the holes you need for stitching. The 3mm wide gap at the base of the cradle will allow the awl to go right through the page set.
This new batch of cradles is made from Oregon. As these cradles are hand made there may be some minor imperfections such as the odd chip or indentation in the wood.
Each cradle is supplied with an awl.
