Alexander Hislop's classic, The Two Babylons, was written in the 1850s after seven years of research from sources that are now quite difficult to find. His premise that the religion of ancient Babylon is found today in the Roman Catholic church has been attacked at many levels for 170 years, but it still finds a place in explaining the history behind Chapters 13, 17 and 18 of the book of Revelation. It is one of the few books still around today that tackle this controversial topic.
